Is The Budgeting App free to use in the UK?
Yes. The free plan is permanent, with no trial period, no credit card, and no ads. It includes manual entry, offline mode, sync across your devices, and weekly, fortnightly, and monthly budgets. Can I connect my UK bank account?
Not yet. Automatic bank sync via Open Banking is live in Australia, the United States, and Canada. In the UK, The Budgeting App is manual entry for now: you add each transaction yourself, which many people prefer for staying close to their spending.
Does The Budgeting App support weekly and fortnightly budgets?
Yes. Weekly, fortnightly, and monthly budget periods are all built in natively, not bolted on. Set your pay date and the app resets your budget accordingly. All three are included on the free plan.
How does manual entry work?
Tap the plus button, enter the amount, and pick a category. The whole thing is a few taps. Recurring transactions, like rent or a subscription, can be templated so you only set them up once.
Does The Budgeting App work offline?
Yes. The app works fully offline. You can log transactions, view your budgets, and manage your categories with no connection. You only need internet to sync across your devices.
Is my financial data private and secure?
Yes. There are no ads, so nothing about your spending is used to advertise to you, and you control what's in your budget: in the UK you add every transaction yourself. Your data is stored on your device and synced to the cloud so it's there on every device you sign in on.
